Kindergarten is Exhausting!
During Writer's Workshop, one of our little ones conked out while still holding his crayon. It was the third day of school and he may just have needed a little cat nap. How could you not love this picture?
Humpty Dumpty: Our First Rhyme
Our first week of Kindergarten is now behind us. In Skills Block, we have been singing about Humpty Dumpty, pointing out words that rhyme and that are the same, and have also danced to the Humpty Dumpty song. Nursery rhymes are a great way that students can practice phonemic awareness (being able to rhyme words) which is important in reading preparedness.
Today students had lots of fun making the first page of their Nursery Rhyme book. We will be adding a new rhyme once a week.
Kindergarten Class Picture 2017-2018
Here they are...the Mall-ard's Kindergarten Class of 2017-2018. We have high expectations for this beautiful group of kids and can't wait to see them learn and grow. This was actually the second day of school and amazing that we were able to these five year old children to sit so nicely to get their picture taken!
